Aegis Designs was created in the belief that jewelry is a defining extension of an individual's personality, and as such, should be crafted to the same exacting standards as held by master jewelers of the past. To accomplish this, we create all of our pieces in house from the finest raw materials. Each piece starts from wire, casting grain, chain or sheet and is crafted into its final form with our only concern being its perfection. To achieve this level of quality, all work that is not directly produced by the designer is created in part by the designer's own trained apprentice and released only if the piece truly captures the essence of the design. We believe that by training a talented individual in our shop, we benefit from having a highly motivated young artist who brings their raw passion to our work and they gain an education along with real industry experience. This was the manor in which Aegis Designs' founder, Sandra Fernekes, received her formal training and she is committed to continuing this fine tradition.

Since jewelry is truly a defining extension of an individual's personality, then we as the artist should allow our clients to participate in the design process. Whether for daily wear, wedding or other special events, we understand that the perfect design must be available in the perfect color in order to work, so we allow our clients to customize their piece with any combination of stones, metal beads and crystals. Or should you need a completely custom design, we can work with you to create a one of a kind item.

With each piece being specially created by our artists and our clients, we feel they deserve an individual designation. Every piece we craft has a unique identification number located on its tag. By entering this number on our website, you can retrieve every relevant detail necessary to match, reproduce or replace your item in the future as long as the components are still available. By sharing this id with friends and family, you can make it easy for them to add to your collection for holidays, birthdays, weddings or any other special occasion.

Our sole purpose is to produce finely crafted jewelry for our clients. It is truly an honor to be commissioned to create a personalized piece for another individual, and this responsibility should never be taken lightly. For this reason, we only use the finest 14k gold. Our silver pieces are made with Argentium silver or .999 fine silver when available; otherwise, we ensure the best quality sterling silver is incorporated. On many pieces, we also offer solid brass, copper, and nickel. We refuse to use plating solutions for color enhancement since this is a temporary treatment and will limit the beauty of our pieces. We search a variety of lapidaries for unusual stones, but will only use those that are solid and authentic unless noted otherwise in our selection page. To prove this, all of our stones are set in open back settings so that you can be assured of receiving a complete stone, not a doublet. At times we will offer lab created stones such as Cats Eye since there is no natural equivalent, but they will always be noted as such. Many of our designs can incorporate crystal instead of stone, and for these selections, we offer only the finest Swarovski crystal. Known the world over for its perfect prisming and color saturation, we refuse to use anything less.

Most importantly, we stand by our products. All work is guaranteed for 6 months from purchase date (or gift holiday of that month) unless excessive abuse caused the failure. We repair all pieces in our workshop free of charge during the warranty period and offer reduced rates there after. We also offer to use functioning parts of a damaged piece in the re-creation of a new item should there be sentimental reason.
